Kansas City Museum Photography/Filming Policies

Kansas City Museum, in light of our ongoing renovation, continues to be a popular destination for photography and filming. Please see the below Photo Policy for taking photos and videos at the Kansas City Museum.

Personal Photography Policy:
Due to the ongoing renovation and active construction activity, personal photography is generally not permitted on the estate grounds south of the Carriage House on a regular basis. This includes the lawn around Corinthian Hall. Photography is permitted on the grounds north of the pergola and around the Visitor Center. The beautiful pergola and the fragrant wisteria make a fantastic setting to take photos of family and friends.

Visitors on tours inside Corinthian Hall and other Museum buildings are permitted to take photographs and shoot videos for personal use. Photographs, film, or videotape for promotional or commercial purposes may not be taken of individuals without their express permission or, in the case of minors, without the express written permission of parents or legal guardians.

While on Museum grounds, visitors may be photographed by Museum photographers and videographers, and these images and videos may be used for the purpose of promoting the Museum.

Commercial Photography:

Professional photographers and videographers must arrange prior approval of all editorial and commercial photography, filming or videotaping at the Museum. Please contact Community Relations Specialist Andrew Mouzin at 816-483-8300 ext. 1406 or amouzin@unionstation.org to request your shoot.

Due to the ongoing renovation, all commercial photography and videography must be requested no less than one month in advance. The Museum reserves the right to change this deadline.

Cost: $75/hr with a two hour minimum. All funds collected support the renovation and conservation efforts at Corinthian Hall. Fees must be paid in advance. Refunds are extended only with 48 hours notice of cancellation. Checks are payable to Kansas City Museum. All major credit cards are accepted.

•All lighting, tripods, monopods, and stands must have rubber caps on their feet.

•Due to the delicate nature of the plaster ornamentation inside the building, lighting equipment must have a cooling system.
