Walk and Talk History Tour: Rockhill Neighborhood

Sunday, April 20 | 2 p.m. | $8

Tour will begin at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art reflecting pool. Bottled Water provided. Please wear shoes comfortable for walking. Pre-registration required.

Travel back and explore William Rockhill Nelson’s urban development and the grounds of his sprawling estate Oak Hall, the current home of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Kansas City historian Bill Worley will take you on an exploration of how Nelson, a developer and publisher of the Kansas City Star, built Rockhill using the City Beautiful movement as a guide. You’ll pass several homes Nelson developed for his Kansas City Star employees that are on the National Register of Historic Places.
